S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan State University (EKSU) is focused on the University achieving a high level of development through the implementation of the goals and objectives set by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the framework of the development of higher education.
The mission of the University is to provide a leading role in the international scientific and educational space in the formation of competitive specialists for the innovative development of Kazakhstan. The implementation of this mission is to prepare competent, socially responsible and competitive specialists with modern technologies, scientific and pedagogical and research skills that meet the global requirements of the labor market. In addition, the implementation of the mission includes the formation of a single cultural, educational, intellectual and innovative space of the University, ensuring the quality of lifelong education in accordance with global trends and principles of the Bologna process, active international cooperation and ensuring academic mobility of students and staff of the University. Vision: The University in the innovation development of Kazakhstan positions itself as a research and educational center, included in the ranking of the best universities of the country and the world.

The university trains specialists in 59 undergraduate majors in full-time, evening and extramural courses, 39 magistracy specialties, 12 PhD doctoral specialties in the areas of "Education", "Natural Sciences", "Business", "Technical Sciences", "Services "," Right ".
Research activities are carried out by research laboratories and centers of the EKSU: the National Research Laboratory for Collective Use (Laboratory of Plant Biology and Biotechnology, Training and Research and Production Site, Testing Laboratory of Physical and Chemical Research), Altaitanu Research and Development Center, Institute of Continuing Professional Education (Center “Ruhani Zhangyru”, Scientific and Educational Center “Nazarbayevtanu”, Scientific and Educational Center “Ziyatker”, Center for Economic research “G-Global”), the Center for the Development of Scientific Research of Students and Young Scientists, the Laboratory of Phytochemistry. The national collective science laboratory is the only one in the Eastern region.
International cooperation of the university is aimed at integration into the world educational community, participation in the work of authoritative interstate associations, interaction with leading universities in the near and far abroad. The university is a member of seven international associations of universities: the Eurasian Association of Universities (1995); International Academy of Higher Education (1998); The Great Charter of Universities (2009); International Coordinating Council "Our Common Home - Altai" (2011); Associations of Asian Universities (2013), European Association of Universities (2016), Regional Network "Education and Training of Specialists in the Field of Nuclear Technologies (STARNET)" (2016). Since 2014, EKSU headed the Council of Rectors of the Greater Altai. Expanding cooperation with foreign universities is one of the priorities for the development of EKSU. The boundaries of interaction with partner universities are expanded annually, new contracts are concluded. At present, the university implements international activities with universities in the United States of America, Great Britain, Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Russia, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, France, China, South Korea, and Portugal. The university has agreements on the program of double-diploma education with universities of South Korea (Jiongsang National University, Chengju) and the Russian Federation (Altai State Technical University named after I.Polzunov, Altai State University, Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University). Within the framework of international exchanges and programs of international organizations (DAAD, Erasmus, ITEC, UGRAD, Goethe-Institut, Mevlana), students and faculty of the university studied and completed internships abroad. Currently, educational and research projects are being implemented in the framework of international programs UNISEF, Erasmus +, Tempus and the British Council.
